Dissemination

Dissemination mostly consists of distribution of materials and organization of events in IEEPS project. The main project dissemination activities are:

  1. Organizing thematic scientific conferences (one in Cyprus and one in Serbia);
  2. Organizing round tables (one in Slovenia and one in Belgium);
  3. Publishing scientific papers;
  4. Distribution of the project’s products to schools and to other stakeholders;
  5. Meetings with policy makers, professional associations, relevant NGO’s etc.
  6. Addressing wider public via different media (television, web site, newspapers etc.).

 

Organizing thematic scientific conferences. Faculty of Education of University of Kragujevac, Institute for Educational Research and Institute for Improvement of Education were organized, within the Comenius IEEPS project “Improving education effectiveness of primary schools”, the International Scientific Conference „Improving quality of education in elementary schools” was held October 14th 2016 at the Teacher Training Faculty in Belgrade, Serbia. The Conference will be also organized in Cyprus to reach local, regional and national policymakers, teacher, principal and parent associations and NGOs in order to promote the outputs of the project and advocate for greater application of sophisticated methods in data analyses, adoption of SPF reporting to schools, widespread use of the EF handbook and installation of EPD training seminars.

 

Organizing round tables. Two round tables were organized to disseminate the project. The one in Belgium promoted the use of updated SPF system in a non-Belgian setting, so that other countries can obtain individualized performance feedback for their schools without having to reinvent the wheel. The other round table in Slovenia was focused on the possibilities of improvement of their own feedback system.

  • Book of Abstracts, 3rd International Conference “Methodological aspects of teaching mathematics”

Journal papers of research findings from Comenius project will be published in the future. Also, thematic journal issues will promote the project results among the academic community.

 

Distribution of the project’s products to schools. 125 schools included in the project will receive by email SPF report and EF handbook. EPD was formally registered as in-service training seminar in Serbia (by UKG and IPI) and in Cyprus (by UCY), which was incorporate it into the education systems in two countries. School staffs undergoing EPD were provided with EPD training materials. The EPD pamphlet will advertise the EPD seminar to schools. Similarly, electronic versions of these materials in English will be distributed via email to foreign researchers and institutions, known partners in previous projects. UKG, UCY and KUL will adopt major components of EPD for teaching in the courses at the bachelor and/or master level, so that they will reach future teachers, policymakers, researchers and various educators. The offerings of the courses will be announced to the pupils via regular university procedures.

 

Meetings with policy makers, professional associations, relevant NGO’s. The policy brief will concisely present the entire project to policymakers, draw its benefits for education policy, and highlight applications of EER for improvement of pupil learning.

 

Addressing wider public via different media. The web site will be designed to: (a) inform the wider public about the project; and (b) host electronic, free-of-charge SPF report example, EF handbook, EPD pamphlet, policy brief and relevant other EER-related materials.
